His experimental fusion of polka music with 70's hard rock bass amplification nearly ended the storied career of Vancouver's seminal Orchestra Orlando Russo, and Daj's bass playing career came crashing down once Orlando realized he was already playing all the bass notes with his left hand on the accordion.
Daj then fled to Japan for no apparent reason but strongly driven by no apparent purpose.
Shaken and somewhat sturred in the great 3.11 Earthquake, Tsunami and subsequent nuclear meltdown in nearby Fukushima, Daj returned to Canada for no apparent reason.
And then came SHAG the Band.
